About Alice
Why does Alice Teach Yoga?
Alice says: “Because…I love it! It’s fun, a healthy habit, gives me focus, discipline, and offers a sanctuary from the often hectic world around us….and much, much more! Why not come to class and experience how yoga can enhance your life!”
Alice has always been interested in the “bigger picture” having studied in and afterwards worked within the Private and Public Sectors of the Environment Field. Having an understanding of the amount of work required to achieve global sustainability, she realised that a shift is needed to come from each individual’s attitude towards ourselves, others and our surroundings before this can truly become possible.
It was discovered in ancient times that yoga is a method of practice which brings out the best qualities within the individual, removing the false perception that we are all separate from others, and increasing the awareness of our interconnectedness. From personal experience of what yoga has done for Alice, she continues with her own yoga journey and wishes to share her knowledge of yoga with her students.
Alice’s Teaching Style
Alice’s teaching style is influenced by her past and present yoga teachers, with an emphasis on body alignment and the use of props to make postures (asanas) accessible to all. General classes are primarily asana based, a typical class will include warm ups, static asana work, sequences (linking of asana together), breathing techniques and end with a relaxation…bliss……
